Child and youth work has a particularly high priority in our FDP / AufbruchC parliamentary group.

Augustdorf is a young community. Against this background, it is important for us to do something for the children and young people. In cooperation with the youth parliament we would like to draw up a plan according to which as many dream projects as possible of the children and young people can be realized. To give us an insight into youth work in Augustdorf, we visited the youth center with the parliamentary group some time ago. We have come to the conclusion that this youth center is indispensable for youth work in Augustdorf and that we are committed to maintaining it. We have applied for free WiFi in the bus connections to and from Augustdorf. Members of the parliamentary group accompanied the public order office on its trips through Augustdorf and sought a conversation with the young people.

We want what is done for the youth in Augustdorf. But here we are dependent on your help. We need suggestions on what should be made. Preferably by those affected themselves.

How do you present youth work in Augustdorf?

The political landscape in Augustdorf is changing.

This time, this is not due to the big parties, but to the two smallest, Aufbruch C and FDP. Because they will form a common parliamentary group in the coming legislative period.

Both won a council seat in the local elections, the FDP with 5.11 percent and Aufbruch C with 4.84 percent; Roger Ritter has secured a place for the FDP, and Andreas Löwen for Aufbruch C.

The amalgamation of the two lone fighters makes sense, because as individuals, both parties would not have parliamentary group status, so they could not submit proposals to the council or participate in committees.

"We sat down several times and found that we agree on many points," explain both Aufbruch C board member Andreas Epp and FDP chairman Roger Ritter.

This is also important, because local law in North Rhine-Westphalia provides that the merger of members of different parties requires an examination of whether the merger is actually aimed at financial advantages or a strengthening of the legal position for the pursuit of individual political goals individual council members.

According to local law, the basis of the association must be the fundamental political agreement of the members. This is not legally identical with the same party affiliation. Although this is the rule in practice, the term “party” should be separated from the term “faction”.

Epp and Ritter are not concerned about sufficient agreement. "We are confident about the coming period because we will tackle the projects that are important to us together," both explain.

The Augustdorf administration has already been informed of the move. The new parliamentary group will be called "FDP / Aufbruch C".
